Ropetopia

Ropetopia is an annual top rope & sport climbing competition where we invite anyone who enjoys getting on the ropes out for a night of fun competition. Fun for the whole family with a wide range of climbing categories for all skill levels, with a KIDS ONLY division with climbs set specifically for the younger crowd!

We also welcome anyone interested to attend and watch Sudbury’s annual climbing competition. Admission for spectators is free, and guests are also welcomed to attend the evening social.

Competition Format

The competition will consist of approximately 24 top rope routes set throughout the gym. Competitors will have 3 hours to complete as many of the problems as they can. Only the best five scores will count to the competitor’s total score.

Climbers will be allowed to walk around and view problems as soon as they are signed in after registration opens at 1:00 pm. No one will be allowed to touch any of the holds on any of the problems until the competition is officially underway.

Climbing will begin at 2:00 pm after some introductions and announcements.

Registration Info

Registration includes a competition t-shirt for registrants. Participants are encouraged to register before March 30th to guarantee a competition shirt in their size.

When registering, please choose the category you would like to compete in. You may change your category at any time, up to and including during the competition.

Participants must check in at the desk between 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the competition, and will receive their competition t-shirt at that time (subject to sizing availability after March 30th).
