Summer Program Assistant

Position: Youth Summer Program Assistant
Contract Length: 10 Weeks (June 24- Sept 4th) possible extension to Feb 2021.
Supervisor: Summer Camp Program Coordinator

Hours: 40/hr a week Monday – Friday. Weeknights and weekends as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the implementation of summer camp programs at ARC.
  • Responsible for providing support to the coordinator and assist in supervising, teaching and leading the youth attending the summer programming
  • Assist in creating a welcoming, safe program environment for all participants.
  •  Facilitate programs such as rock climbing, co-operative games, nature hikes, outdoor living skills, orienteering, and arts and crafts
  • Ensure all program policies and procedures are implemented and carried out in day to day operations
  •  Professionally communicate directly with clients, both the children attending the Summer Camps and their parents on a daily basis.
  •  Provide site support through general maintenance, program set up, and supervision of activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with children
  •  Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  • Excellent written communication skills
  •  Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding to sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
  • Time management skills – must be able to plan, organize and prioritize
  •  Computer skills using Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C

 

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Bilingual
  • Previous Day Camp experience
  • Knowledge of climbing procedures and safety guidelines
  •  ACMG Certification

Summer Program Coordinator

What You’ll do:
• Responsible for the creation and delivery of Summer day camp programming specifically targeted toward youth ages 6 – 13.
• Provides support, training, and mentoring to all day camp staff and volunteers
• Responsible for scheduling, performance management, and program timeline preparation for Day Camp Assistants
• Assist with the development of the budget and operational plan for ARC Day Camps
• Ensure all program policies and procedures are implemented and carried out in day to day operations
• Communicate directly with clients, both the children attending the Summer Camps and their parents on a daily basis.
• Work as a liaison between ARC Summer Camp Staff and ARC Climbing and Yoga Staff

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  •  Excellent written communication skills
  •  Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding to sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity

  • First Aid

Communications and Marketing Co-ordinator

Position: Communications and Marketing Co-ordinator
Salary: Negotiable, to commensurate with experience
Position: Part time (10-15hrs/week)
Closing: Friday May 31st

About ARC Climbing & Yoga:

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Co-ordinator to join our team. ARC is Sudbury’s Premiere Climbing and Yoga and Fitness Facility. ARC features over 7000 sq. Ft. of indoor rock climbing including 35-foot-high climbing walls and bouldering, as well as a beautiful 900 sq.Ft. yoga studio. ARC is a community-oriented lifestyle fitness facility offering indoor climbing and daily yoga classes to help you balance and optimize how you move through life.

Communication and Marketing Coordinator

What you’ll do:

This position involves managing our social media platforms and promotional materials, while adhering to our branding guidelines and engaging our community.

 

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Curating engaging and creative social media campaigns, posts, and graphics for all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube)
  • Coordination and compilation of newsletters and promotional emails
  • Event promotions and press communication
  • Creating engaging and brand conscious print media and posters for events

 

Who you are:

  • You have experience with posting content and engaging with an audience on various social media platforms
  • You have experience with marketing and promotions/promotional material and print.
  • You are self-driven and have excellent time-management skills
  • You have experience with WordPress and Microsoft Office
  • Post-secondary education an asset (but not required.)
  • Proficient in speaking, writing and reading English. (French as asset).
  • Proficient with computers. Specifically WordPress, Keynote, Microsoft Office.  (Experience with Rock Gym Pro an asset)
  • Organized, accountable, reliable.
  • Honest, friendly and approachable.
  • Able to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Team player and leader
