Front Desk Attendant

Position:  Front Desk Attendant

Hours: Part time, 8-24hrs/week

Pay rate: To be determined

Job Description: 

ARC is seeking a friendly front desk attendant to join our team.  This position involves a wide variety of duties which aim to support and ensure the wellbeing of our members, staff, and the overall success of the facility. Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Customer service – greeting and communicating with members/guests/and other staff 
  • Answering the phone, email, social media and general inquiries regarding ARC services, programming and pricing
  • Understanding and following ARC policies and procedures, 
  • Navigating in Rock Gym Pro (RGP) to complete member sign ins, set ups and sales
  • Completing cash sales
  • Facility orientation for new guests
  • Light cleaning duties – sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting

Qualifications and Experience •

  • Some post secondary education an asset (but not required)
  • Cash experience an asset
  • Customer service experience an asset
  • Proficient in speaking, writing and reading English.  French an asset.
  • Comfortable with computers (word and excel).  
  • First Aid an asset
  • Passion for climbing, yoga and or other forms of fitness and well being

Summer Program Coordinator

Position: Youth Summer Program Coordinator
Contract Length: 11 Weeks (June 21st-Sept 4th) Possible extension to part-time work during the school year
Hours: 35-40/hr a week Monday to Friday. Weeknights and weekends as needed.

What You’ll do:
• Responsible for the creation and delivery of Summer day camp programming specifically targeted toward youth ages 6 – 13.
• Provides support, training, and mentoring to all day camp staff and volunteers
• Responsible for scheduling, performance management, and program timeline preparation for Day Camp Assistants
• Assist with the development of the budget and operational plan for ARC Day Camps
• Ensure all program policies and procedures are implemented and carried out in day to day operations
• Communicate directly with clients, both the children attending the Summer Camps and their parents on a daily basis.
• Work as a liaison between ARC Summer Camp Staff and ARC Climbing and Yoga Staff

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  •  Excellent written communication skills
  •  Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding to sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
  •  Time management skills – must be able to plan, organize and prioritize
  •  Computer skills using Microsoft Office
  • First Aid

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C
  • Previous Day Camp experience
  • Knowledge of climbing procedures and safety guidelines
  •  Knowledge and experience climbing in an outdoor setting
  •  ACMG Certification
  • Post-secondary education in science, health sciences, outdoor education or environmental sciences

Summer Program Assistant

Position: Youth Summer Program Assistant (2 positions)
Contract Length: 10 Weeks (June 21- Sept 2nd) possible extension to part time during the school year 2021.
Supervisor: Summer Camp Program Coordinator

Hours: 35-40/hr a week Monday – Friday. Weeknights and weekends as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the implementation of summer camp programs at ARC.
  • Responsible for providing support to the coordinator and assist in supervising, teaching and leading the youth attending the summer programming
  • Assist in creating a welcoming, safe program environment for all participants.
  •  Facilitate programs such as rock climbing, co-operative games, nature hikes, outdoor living skills, orienteering, and arts and crafts
  • Ensure all program policies and procedures are implemented and carried out in day to day operations
  •  Professionally communicate directly with clients, both the children attending the Summer Camps and their parents on a daily basis.
  •  Provide site support through general maintenance, program set up, and supervision of activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with children
  •  Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  • Excellent written communication skills
  •  Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding to sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
  • Time management skills – must be able to plan, organize and prioritize
  •  Computer skills using Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C
